Henry O. Henryson joined the WI 15th Infantry, Company G. The men of this company called themselves the “Rock River Rangers.”
The army listed Henryson as living in Primrose, Dane County, WI, unmarried, and age 18. He enlisted for three years on November 11, 1861 at Belleville, WI, and mustered at Madison, WI on December 8, 1861. He was assigned as a Corporal (Korporal) on January 1, 1862. He was with the provision transport from Stevenson, AL in October 1863. He was then in a hospital for a time in 1864. He assigned as an ambulance driver on July 17, 1864. He mustered out with Company G on January 13, 1865 at Chattanooga, TN. In 1886, he was living in Sheldahl, Story County, IA.
